How you can help

We urgently need help with running the Hedgehog Rescue. Please try and help us.

We have been buying everything with our own money, but as we become better known and more hedgehogs are being brought into us, we can no longer manage this.

We know that money is scarce for everyone, but if you can spare as little as 10 or 20 pence. If it comes from lots of you then it soon adds up and we can buy more milk & food and save more helpless hedgehogs.

Please if you can spare a few pence to help up, just pop it into an envelope & post to the address on the contact page. Every penny is vital & helps to save hedgehogs.

When you go shopping buy an extra tin of puppy food or pack of cat biscuits for the hedgehogs.

If you cannot give money to help us, please consider giving us a few essential items to help care for the sick or injured hedgehogs in our care. We need things that you might otherwise think of throwing away.

We urgently need:

  • Old towels and pillow cases as bedding
  • Paper towels and toilet paper for cleaning up
  • Tins of cat food, puppy food or packs of cat biscuits
  • Rubbish bags etc.
  • Baby wipes for cleaning hedgehogs
  • Other cleaning and disinfecting products
  • We urgently need large cardboard boxes to make temporary pens for the hedgehogs ( to be of any use a box needs to be about 3' long and 18" wide at least but the bigger the better)
The sort of boxes that are ideal are those from a washing machine or big TV or similar.
  • Please email us if you can help with the boxes or anything else

Everything is used to help save sick and injured hedgehogs.baby hedgehogs in a basket

Babies and sick hedgehogs are fed on a milk substitute called Esbilac, which is the closest thing to natural hedgehog milk.

Esbilac is very expensive to buy, because it has to be imported from the United States and costs over £25 for each container of powdered milk.

Please help us to rear more baby hedgehogs and treat the sick ones by helping us to to buy this essential milk.

Please see the contact page for details of how to contact us

I come out to collect any sick, injured or orphaned hedgehog anywhere within a reasonable distance from us. All this costs a lot of money in petrol. Please if you call us try and give a small donation towards petrol costs. I do everything with my own money.

Donations

You can donate safely and securely by using the Paypal service, just click on the button below. Any amount no matter how small is gratefully accepted and needed to ensure we keep the hedgehog rescue running

We are very grateful to all the people who have given donations to help us in our work and especially the companies below who have given very generous donations of food, medicines or other materials to help us.

Without the extremely generous help of these companies we would find it extremely difficult to help as many hedgehogs as we do.

If you would like to help us in any way, whether with donations of food, money or in any other way, please see our contact page for how to contact us.

Please don't forget we are only volunteers who do this because we care for them.
We can't do this alone
We need your help.
